Worker death toll mounting in 2017 - 2.2.17
Ten Australians have been killed at work so far this year, according to latest figures from Safe Work Australia.
Transport, postal & warehousing workplaces have emerged as the most fatal, with five workplace deaths so far. The transport sector recorded a total of 64 deaths in 2016.
The latest figures show two Arts & recreation services workers have been killed while at work in 2017.
Agriculture, forestry & fishing, Construction, and Electricity, gas, water & waste services workplaces have each one fatality.
No deaths have so far been reported this year in Mining, Other services, Administrative & support services, Manufacturing, Public administration & safety, Information media & telecommunications and Accommodation & food services.
